Experiential Adventure Team Building Retreats
As a former Camp
Director, Donna is well versed in experiential education. She has
years of experience creating adventure based retreats using high and low
ropes course, non competitive games, ice breaker activities, rock climbing,
adventure trips and more. Donna can design the right type of
experience for your group. Why use adventure?
Adventure
activities are a great medium for building teams BUT only if you
plan well, have a talented facilitator and connect the valuable work
back to the workplace. Adventure takes everyone out of their typical
environment. They are challenged to work together in a different way
and yet all of the dynamics that exist at work come out very
quickly. There is a framework for talking about them,
challenging the dynamics themselves and trying different approaches.
The learning occurs at a deep level.
When I
facilitate adventure programs I require a minimum of follow-up
meetings to ensure that the learning is integrated into the
workplace and long lasting. I recommend a full year but require at
least 6 months of monthly team meetings. This learning occurs
for people in deep and profound ways and warrants time for
integration and processing. It is not always evident in the moment
what the learning was or why it is important.
